Claims Adjuster - Casualty

Key Responsibilities
Proactively manage a diverse portfolio of Casualty claims from first notification through to settlement and closure, investigating policy coverage, liability and quantum, while setting and reviewing reserves and claims strategy throughout the lifecycle of each claim. Maintain compliance with delegated authority levels, claims reserving philosophies and claims handling standards, referring matters as appropriate. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims process, including policyholders, brokers, co-insurers, actuaries, underwriters and other relevant parties. Instruct, manage and oversee external legal counsel, loss adjusters and third-party administrators (TPAs), providing technical guidance and exercising financial authority where required. Maintain accurate, comprehensive claim files and ensure high standards of record keeping and documentation. Deliver a professional, customer-focused claims service while adhering to organisational values, codes of conduct and regulatory requirements. Support Claims Managers and senior leadership with internal audit activities, management information and reporting requirements. Contribute to the development of claims strategy and business initiatives by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, sharing technical expertise and supporting underwriting objectives. Promote the profile of the Claims function through engagement with clients, brokers and the wider insurance market, including participation in industry meetings and supporting business development initiatives where appropriate.
Experience
Strong experience adjusting UK&I/International Casualty claims (US Excess would be beneficial) within a Lloyd's/London Market environment
