Electrical Engineer
Derby | Up to £55,000 | Rotating 3-Shift Pattern
We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a high-speed manufacturing site in Derby.
This is a hands-on role focused mainly on electrical breakdowns, fault finding and keeping automated production equipment running safely and efficiently.
What we're looking for
Recognised Electrical or Engineering Maintenance apprenticeship Experience working on production or manufacturing equipment Background in FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, packaging or a similar high-speed environment Strong electrical fault-finding skills Experience interrogating PLCs and working with automated control systems Able to work independently on shift Comfortable working a rotating 3-shift pattern
Applicants whose electrical background is based solely on college qualifications, domestic/commercial electrical work or facilities maintenance without a recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant manufacturing experience are unlikely to be suitable for this position.
Experience with Siemens S5/S7 PLCs, inverter drives, COMPEX, hazardous areas, pneumatics or GMP environments would be beneficial, but not essential.
The role
You will respond to production breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance, support equipment modifications and small projects, and help improve reliability through root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Shift pattern
Days: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm
Afternoons: Monday-Thursday, 2pm-10pm and Friday, 2pm-6pm
Nights: Sunday, 6pm-6am followed by Monday-Thursday, 10pm-6am
New starters will initially work days while they learn the site before moving onto independent shift coverage.
