Role: Catering Lecturer Location: Merseyside Type: Permanent - Full Time Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum Eden Brown Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Catering Lecturer on behalf of a well-established Further Education College. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Catering professional and educator to join a successful curriculum team, delivering engaging and industry-relevant teaching to learners studying Catering and Hospitality programmes at Levels 1 and 2. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing the next generation of hospitality professionals, using their industry knowledge and teaching expertise to inspire learners and help them achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Level 1 and Level 2 Catering programmes.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress and achievement.
- Monitor learner attendance, progress and achievement, implementing interventions where required.
- Maintain accurate student records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Support learners to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression into employment or further study.
- Promote high standards of health and safety, food hygiene and professional practice within the training kitchen environment.
Requirements:
- Relevant Catering, Hospitality or Professional Cookery qualification.
- Experience teaching Catering within a Further Education, Sixth Form or other 16+ educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Catering and Hospitality industry standards and practices.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable, although candidates working towards a teaching qualification may also be considered.
