Oscar Technology has partnered exclusively with a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) near Orpington to recruit a skilled Field IT Support Engineer to join their growing team.
Job Description
As a Field Support Engineer , you will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical support to clients both remotely and onsite. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and deploying IT systems while ensuring excellent customer service and timely resolution of technical issues.
You will travel to client sites, provide hands-on support, and work closely with the wider service desk team to deliver effective IT solutions.
Responsibilities Include:
Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to clients both remotely and onsite. Attending customer locations to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals. Troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, applications, and user access issues. Supporting Active Directory environments, including user account creation, permissions, and password resets. Resolving networking issues including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN connectivity, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Carrying out hardware replacements, upgrades, system builds, and device deployments. Assisting with server administration tasks including file shares, security permissions, and user management. Supporting backup solutions and assisting with data recovery processes. Ensuring client IT policies, procedures, and security standards are followed. Maintaining accurate technical documentation, including site notes, asset records, and knowledge base articles. Providing excellent customer service while managing client expectations onsite. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
