About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a UiPath Technical Lead to join our client on a high-profile Intelligent Automation transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the establishment and ongoing development of an Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE), driving automation strategy, governance, and technical excellence across the organisation. This is a 5 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel as required for stakeholder workshops and key programme activities.
As the Technical Lead, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the automation function, ensuring the successful delivery of a diverse automation portfolio while promoting best practice, innovation, and capability development. You will act as the Design Authority for automation solutions, oversee the UiPath platform roadmap, and support the organisation's transition towards a sustainable, in-house Automation CoE.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, business leaders, architects, and delivery teams, you will play a pivotal role in shaping automation strategy, driving platform optimisation, and identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies including AI, Process Mining, and broader UiPath capabilities.
This role also requires the consultant to complete both SC and NPPV3 security clearances prior to starting.
Responsibilities:
Establish and embed the Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE) operating model Define, implement, and maintain automation governance, standards, controls, and best practices Act as Design Authority for all automation solutions across the organisation Own the automation platform roadmap, strategy, and optimisation initiatives Provide technical leadership and architecture oversight across UiPath and associated technologies Drive migration, remediation, and modernisation activities for legacy automation solutions Lead technical decision-making and backlog prioritisation activities Mentor internal resources and support the transition to a sustainable in-house CoE capability Ensure automation initiatives align with business objectives and strategic priorities Identify opportunities to leverage AI, Process Mining, Intelligent Document Processing, and wider UiPath capabilities Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive automation adoption and innovation Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture, security, risk, and compliance requirements
About You
8+ years' experience in Intelligent Automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), or related disciplines Extensive UiPath architecture and solution design experience Proven experience establishing, leading, or maturing Automation Centres of Excellence Strong experience defining automation governance frameworks, standards, and delivery methodologies Demonstrable expertise acting as a technical authority or solution design lead for enterprise automation programmes Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leadership and executive audiences Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams across technical and business functions Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, security controls, and compliance requirements Experience delivering automation solutions within highly regulated environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
