Data Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + benefits
The Role
We are working with a fast-growing technology company that is continuing to invest heavily in its data platform as it scales.
They are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to help build and optimise modern cloud-based data infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting, and future AI initiatives across the business.
You'll play a key role in developing scalable data pipelines, improving data quality, and helping shape the company's growing data function. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Data Science teams, you'll ensure data is reliable, accessible and ready to power business decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team where you'll have genuine ownership, influence over technical decisions, and exposure to a modern cloud data stack.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines across multiple data sources Develop and optimise cloud-based data platforms to support analytics and operational reporting Build robust data models and transformation workflows using modern engineering best practices Ensure data quality, governance and reliability through monitoring, validation and testing Work closely with Data Analysts, Product Managers and Software Engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions Optimise pipeline performance, scalability and cost efficiency Contribute to the ongoing development of the company's cloud data architecture Help establish best practices around automation, documentation and CI/CD within the data team
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years' commercial experience as a Data Engineer Strong Python and SQL skills Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines Commercial experience working with Azure or AWS cloud platforms Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or Redshift Experience using orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory or Prefect Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling principles Excellent problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused mindset Comfortable working within cross-functional engineering teams
Nice to Have
Experience with dbt Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka Experience within a high-growth SaaS or technology business Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Experience supporting machine learning or AI workloads
