Lecturer & Programme Lead – Early Years
Location: Sunderland College – Bede Campus Start Date: ASAP Duration: Initially until 16 October 2026, with potential for extension Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday Salary/Rate: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience
The Supply Register is currently recruiting on behalf of Sunderland College for an experienced Lecturer & Programme Lead – Early Years to join their team at the Bede Campus.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Years/Childcare professional with teaching experience to work within a Further Education setting, delivering engaging and supportive teaching to learners.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering Level 1 NCFE Childcare & Early Years , teaching two classes of approximately 16 learners.
The role consists of:
24 hours per week of teaching/contact time 13 hours per week of paid planning, preparation and other duties Monday–Friday working pattern Supporting learners with their development, progress and achievement Planning and delivering engaging lessons appropriate to the level and needs of learners Working as part of the wider curriculum team
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
A Level 4 qualification or above in Early Years, Childcare or a related subject Relevant industry experience within Early Years/Childcare A Level 5 teaching qualification is preferred Level 2 English and Maths Previous teaching, training or lecturing experience The ability to engage and motivate learners and create a positive learning environment Enhanced DBS Certificate registered to the Update Service
