Management Accountant
Location: Inverness (Hybrid working may be offered once established in the role) Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract: Full Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established business based in Inverness to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment.
The role would suit a newly qualified or recently qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant seeking their first move into industry, as well as individuals with relevant manufacturing or management accounting experience. You will work closely with operational and senior management teams, providing financial insight to support key business decisions and drive performance improvements across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis. Support the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Produce timely and accurate management information to aid decision making. Monitor manufacturing costs, margins and operational performance. Analyse production variances and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency. Assist with inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and valuation processes. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial controls are maintained. Support month-end and year-end reporting activities. Work closely with production and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge. Work closely with the site GM. Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial performance analysis. Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements across finance and operations. Assist with audits and statutory reporting requirements as required.
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who possess:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or those nearing completion of their studies. Newly qualified accountants looking for their first step into industry are encouraged to apply. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems. A proactive and commercially minded approach. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Experience within manufacturing, production, engineering or a similar operational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
