Job Title: Freelance Architectural Specialist (Architect or Architectural Technologist)
Location: Hybrid / Remote (UK-based)
Engagement Type: Freelance / Contract (Inside/Outside IR35 dependant on project)
Duration: Ongoing contract / Project-based
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Architect or Architectural Technologist with strong proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD to support our client studios on upcoming project deliverables. You will plug directly into design teams to assist with production packages, technical detailing, and planning submissions across various project stages.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit models across RIBA Stages 2-5.
Deliver technical detailing, construction drawing packages, and specifications.
Coordinate with structural, MEP, and external engineering consultants to resolve design clashes.
Assist with planning applications, building regulations submissions, and tender packages.
Ensure all drawing work complies with UK Building Regulations, national standards, and studio CAD/BIM protocols.
Requirements & Skills
Qualified Architect (ARB/RIBA) or Architectural Technologist (CIAT).
Proven hands-on production experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD on live UK projects.
Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and construction detailing.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and hit the ground running.
Excellent communication skills and seamless collaboration with existing studio teams.
Must have your own software setup/hardware if working fully remotely (or capability to work via client-provided hardware/BIM 360/Acc. where required).
Preferred Experience
Experience across Residential, Commercial, Education, or Heritage sectors.
Familiarity with BIM workflows and ISO 19650 standards is a plus.
