Your new company A leading civil engineering contractor is delivering a major highways improvement scheme in Norfolk. The project includes significant earthworks, drainage, highway construction and associated infrastructure works aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing congestion and enhancing journey reliability on a key section of the strategic road network. Your new role As Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a section of earthworks, drainage and highways works from planning through to delivery.
Key duties will include:
Managing and coordinating site engineering activities Leading and mentoring Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers Reviewing drawings and raising technical queries Producing lookahead programmes and monitoring progress Managing temporary works requirements Producing ITPs and quality documentation Maintaining accurate site records and supporting commercial activities Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are followed Working closely with subcontractors, designers and client representatives Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance
What you'll need to succeed
Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Previous experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects Strong background in earthworks, drainage and general civil engineering works Knowledge of temporary works, construction sequencing and programme management Ability to manage and develop junior engineering staff SMSTS and relevant Health & Safety training Valid CSCS Card
