Location: Wakefield Council (Based at Featherstone Town Hall)
Team: Localities - Child Protection & Court
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour

Wakefield Council is seeking a skilled and resilient Senior Social Worker to join their dedicated Localities team based out of the historic Featherstone Town Hall . The Role & Your Impact
As a Senior Social Worker within the Localities team, you will manage a complex caseload spanning Child Protection and Court work. Your core responsibilities will include:
Frontline Safeguarding: Executing high-quality Child Protection plans and managing complex risk dynamically.
Court Proceedings: Preparing robust assessments, writing statements, and confidently presenting evidence within both public and private law court frameworks.
Child-Centred Practice: Ensuring the voice of the child remains central to all interventions, assessments, and care plans.
Peer Support: As a Senior worker, providing informal mentoring and support to less experienced team members when required.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Current CP Experience: You must have recent, direct experience working within a fast-paced statutory Child Protection and/or Court team.
Professional Credentials: A recognized Social Work qualification and an active registration with Social Work England .
Pace & Resilience: The proven ability to manage tight statutory deadlines, handle complex care proceedings, and adapt to a fast-moving service.
Mobility: A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle to cover visits across the local patch.
