Senior Quantity Surveyor
An established property and construction consultancy in Elmbridge is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the lead across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Surrey and the wider South East. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a professional team delivering schemes across the commercial, retail, hospitality and residential sectors.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage projects from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. Acting as a key point of contact for clients and design teams, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide clear commercial advice, maintain strong cost control and ensure projects are delivered in line with programme and budget expectations.
This position would suit a confident Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of commissions and working across a varied project mix. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to build long-term client relationships, contribute to repeat business and play an important role in the continued development of the consultancy's cost management service.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:
Leading projects from inception through to final account
Preparing feasibility estimates, cost plans and detailed project budgets
Producing tender documentation and advising on procurement strategy
Managing valuations, variations, change control and cost reporting
Negotiating final accounts and resolving commercial matters
Attending client, design team and site meetings
Building strong relationships with clients, architects and wider consultants
Managing a varied portfolio across commercial, hospitality, leisure, retail and residential projects
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
Strong UK PQS or cost consultancy experience
MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
Proven experience managing projects independently through pre- and post-contract stages
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement routes
Strong commercial judgement and client-facing communication skills
Able to manage multiple commissions while maintaining a high standard of service
In Return:
£70,000 - £75,000 per annum
