DevOps Engineer | Newcastle - 3 Days Onsite | £45,000 - £60,000 | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract We're seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme, helping to build, automate and support modern cloud-based development environments. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with modern cloud technologies and making a tangible impact on software delivery. Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines Configure and support tools including GitLab, Jenkins and SonarQube Automate build, test and deployment processes Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK Support cloud-based environments across modern platforms Create and maintain automated integrations between systems and APIs Build and manage containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift Work closely with development teams to improve delivery speed, quality and reliability Champion DevOps best practice and continuous improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience within a DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering role Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Experience with GitLab, Jenkins or similar automation tools Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK Experience with Docker and containerised applications Exposure to Kubernetes or OpenShift Experience working with AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms Scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, TypeScript or Node.js Experience working within Agile software delivery environments Must hold/be eligible for SC clerance
Desirable Experience
Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef Experience with security, performance or resilience testing tools Knowledge of serverless architectures Experience integrating applications and services through APIs
