The Supply Register is proud to be recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Maths Lecturer on behalf of Tyne Coast College. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or industry professional with a passion for mathematics and student success.
As a Maths Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting learners to develop their mathematical knowledge, confidence, and problem solving skills. You will deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve their qualifications and progress to further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons to learners across a range of programmes and levels. Teach GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths qualifications. Develop engaging and inclusive learning activities that meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress and achievement. Monitor and track learner performance, attendance, and engagement. Identify and implement strategies to support students requiring additional assistance. Maintain accurate records in line with college procedures and awarding body requirements. Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with colleagues and support teams to promote positive learner outcomes. Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one. A degree in Mathematics or a related subject. Experience teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths, ideally within a Further Education setting. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching mathematics. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. The ability to motivate and inspire learners from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
