Project Manager - New Business Projects Transformation | 12 Month FTC | Circa £60,000 DOE
The Role
We're looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery of new business projects for a leading insurance business, coordinating change from initiation through to implementation. You'll manage day-to-day project activity, dependencies, risks and stakeholder engagement across business and third-party teams to ensure new propositions, processes and operational capabilities land successfully and transition smoothly into BAU.
This is a 12-month FTC paying circa £60,000, depending on experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Producing PIDs, project plans, timelines, milestones and deliverables for new business initiatives, including all required governance Coordinating business, operational, technology and third-party activity to deliver projects to agreed scope, time and budget Managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies tied to product launch, process change and operational readiness - escalating where needed Leading project governance, status reporting and stakeholder communications across sponsors, business teams and delivery partners Managing third-party suppliers and delivery partners, with clear accountability and performance oversight against milestones, scope and quality Ensuring project outputs support business readiness, customer outcomes, control requirements and quality standards Working cross-functionally with distribution, operations, compliance and technology to remove blockers and keep delivery on track Supporting implementation, post-launch review, lessons learned and handover into BAU
What We're Looking For
Proven experience delivering business change or new business projects from initiation to implementation in a structured environment Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, with genuine attention to detail Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, resources and implementation activity across multiple stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable reporting to and coordinating with senior stakeholders Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority Good working knowledge of project management tools and MS Office Solid understanding of life insurance products and new business processes, with awareness of customer, operational, regulatory and delivery impacts
Desirable
PRINCE2, APM or PMP certification Experience with new business, product, proposition, distribution or operational change projects in insurance or financial services Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches Experience in a regulated insurance or financial services environment Commercial awareness, including supplier governance and third-party management in complex delivery settings
