Qualified Nursery Assistant
ABOUT THE NURSERY Prospero Teaching is looking for a Qualified Nursery Assistant for a welcoming and nurturing nursery setting in Croydon, South London.
This well-established nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn, develop, and thrive.
The successful Qualified Nursery Assistant will join a friendly and supportive team, working closely with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's development and wellbeing.
The position is open to experienced Level 3 Qualified Nursery Assistants. Depending on performance, the nursery may look to offer a permanent position.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
- Location - Croydon, South London
- Position - Qualified Nursery Assistant
- Type of work - Supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing through play-based activities, observations, and daily care routines
- Contract or position start date - September 2026
- Full time/part time - Full Time
- Rate of pay - GBP125 - GBP130 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Hours - Monday to Friday, shifts between 8:00am - 4:00pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years/Childcare Qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Nursery Assistant, Early Years Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, or in a similar childcare setting
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable (training can be provided where required)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional childcare-related references covering at least the last two years
