Welder / Fabricator About Us JG Pears is a fourth-generation family business that's grown from a livestock farm near Penistone into one of the largest names in the UK's animal by-products sector, processing over 10,000 tonnes of material a week across the Group. We're investing heavily in where this industry is heading, from our own combined heat and power plant, to a windfarm on our own land, to a joint venture right next door at High Marnham building a hydrogen production facility that's helping drive the UK towards net zero. We're recruiting six Welder/Fabricators to join our Mechanical Team at Low Marnham, as part of the continued growth of our maintenance function.
Salary: £42,000 to £45,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), with overtime paid at time plus a quarter Location: Low Marnham, NG23 6SP Working pattern: 4 on 4 off, days only (05:30 to 17:30)

About the Role This role is essential in ensuring the repair, modification and fabrication of parts and components for our rendering plant and associated equipment. It's a predominantly workshop-based position, carrying out welding, fabrication, repairs and manufacturing of components, with occasional work on plant and equipment around the site. What You'll Be Doing
Performing welding and fabrication tasks on plant equipment as required Carrying out repairs, modifications and manufacturing of metal components Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics to complete tasks accurately Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard, meeting safety regulations and company requirements Using a variety of welding techniques, including MIG and TIG Working confidently with hand tools and a range of materials, including stainless steel and aluminium Operating cutting, bending and shaping tools for metal fabrication Following health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment Maintaining records of work completed and materials used
What You'll Bring
Welding/fabrication certification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) Experience as a Welder/Fabricator, ideally within a heavy machinery environment Competency in MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team
