Job Title: Asbestos Project Manager Location: Glasgow
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established asbestos consultancy in their search for an experienced Asbestos Project Manager to join their team in Glasgow.
This is a senior appointment within the business and an excellent opportunity for an experienced asbestos professional looking to step into a second-in-command type of position , working closely with senior management to oversee the day-to-day delivery of projects, support technical teams, and help drive the continued development of the operation.
The successful Asbestos Project Manager will have significant responsibility and autonomy, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to progress beyond traditional project management and establish themselves as a key member of the leadership team.
THE ROLE
As an Asbestos Project Manager , you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of asbestos projects across Glasgow and the wider Scotland region.
Alongside managing projects, you'll act as a senior point of contact within the business, supporting management with operational decisions, overseeing field-based teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring consistently high technical standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing asbestos surveying and analytical projects from initial instruction through to completion
Acting as a key second-in-command within the operation , supporting senior management with the day-to-day running of the business
Coordinating and supporting Asbestos Surveyors, Analysts, and other technical staff
Planning workloads, resources, site attendance, and project schedules
Acting as a senior point of contact for key clients
Developing and maintaining strong long-term client relationships
Providing technical guidance and support to field-based teams
Reviewing reports and project documentation to maintain technical and quality standards
Managing project performance, resources, deadlines, and client expectations
Supporting quotations, tenders, and business development activities where required
Helping develop junior and experienced members of the technical team
Ensuring projects comply with current asbestos legislation, HSG264, HSG248, HSE guidance, and relevant UKAS procedures
