Assistant Accountant
Norwich

Keeler Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned business with the recruitment of a newly created Assistant Accountant position within their busy Accounts Team.
Key responsibilities:
- Daily authorisation of payments
- Completing Balance Sheet reconciliations, including providing clear narratives and following up outstanding items
- Supporting the Accountant with the preparation of accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Responding to management queries relating to financial information
- Monitoring outstanding debts and reporting on aged or overdue balances
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial and operational processes
- Supporting the analysis and review of existing procedures and controls
- Highlighting discrepancies, potential issues or concerns to management, including any potential fraud
- Providing financial and analytical information to support operational decision-making
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in line with company and legal requirements
About you:
- AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent is preferred, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered
- Previous experience within a busy finance or accounts environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Honest, reliable and professional with strong integrity
- A flexible, positive and 'can-do' approach
- Someone who is keen to develop their skills and progress within their finance career
