Lead Business Analyst (SFIA5) For one of our leading clients, we are searching for an experienced freelance Lead Business Analyst (SFIA5) to support a major digital transformation programme within the public sector. You'll take ownership of complex analysis activities across products, services and workstreams, working closely with senior stakeholders to shape delivery approaches and ensure successful business outcomes. Role Responsibilities
Lead complex discovery, requirements gathering and business analysis activities across digital services Define and drive the analysis approach across products, services and delivery workstreams Facilitate workshops involving senior business and technical stakeholders Shape service design, operating model and delivery decisions through evidence-based analysis Translate strategic business objectives into actionable requirements and delivery plans Provide authoritative advice on business processes, requirements and service improvement opportunities Influence senior stakeholders and support key governance and decision-making activities Ensure alignment between business outcomes and technology delivery Manage competing priorities across complex delivery environments Mentor and coach Business Analysts and support capability development across teams Drive continuous improvement and best practice within the analysis function Support programme governance, strategic planning and delivery management
Requirements
Proven experience as a Lead Business Analyst, Principal Business Analyst or Business Analysis Lead Extensive experience leading analysis activities within large-scale digital transformation programmes Strong discovery, requirements elicitation and stakeholder management experience Demonstrable experience defining analysis approaches across complex products, services or workstreams Strong workshop facilitation skills, including engagement with senior stakeholders Experience influencing both business and technical decision-making Strong process analysis, service design and operating model experience Experience managing competing priorities and stakeholder interests Proven ability to mentor and develop Business Analysts Strong Agile delivery experience within cross-functional product teams Extensive experience using Jira and Confluence Experience working within cloud-native and digital service environments Public sector or large enterprise delivery experience is highly desirable Excellent communication, leadership and documentation skills
Role Details
Location: Primarily remote with occasional travel to Newcastle or Manchester Travel Requirement: 2-3 visits to Newcastle during the first 6 weeks, followed by occasional monthly travel Contract Length: Initial 6 months Clearance: Eligible for SC Clearance (5 years continuous UK residency required) Contract: Freelance Start Date: ASAP
