Opus Magnum is a design-led, employee-owned manufacturer of bespoke contract furniture based in Wandsworth. We work with leading architects, designers, corporate clients and institutions across the UK, delivering high-quality furniture that combines creative design with precision making. We are a business with a strong reputation, a skilled and committed team, and real ambition for what comes next.
We're looking for a technically minded Sales Lead who can take ownership of our sales activity and bring a genuine understanding of how furniture is made, specified, and delivered.
The role
This is a senior commercial position with a technical dimension that sets it apart. You'll lead on business development and client relationships, oversee the outreach team, and work closely with the project management team to ensure that what gets sold can be delivered on time, on budget, and to the high standard Opus Magnum is known for.
You'll be as comfortable discussing construction methods and materials with an architect as you are presenting to a project manager or a procurement team.
What you'll be doing
Leading and developing the outreach team, driving pipeline activity and ensuring client relationships are managed well. Producing accurate quotations using our in-house system, drawing on a solid understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing process. Working closely with the project management team from initial enquiry through to delivery. Contributing to director-level business planning as the business continues to grow.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a senior sales or commercial role within contract furniture or a related manufacturing environment. A working knowledge of furniture construction and the ability to read and interpret technical briefs. Confidence using quoting or estimating systems from day one. A leader who can develop a team and win business. Someone who takes the long view on relationships without losing sight of commercial outcomes.
What we offer
A collaborative, employee-owned business. Real craftsmanship, a culture of innovation, and a story worth telling. The opportunity to shape a commercial function and grow with the business. Competitive salary, pension, bonus potential, and 24 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
The role is based at our Wandsworth workshop. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Opus Magnum is an equal opportunities employer.
