Job Title: Senior Claims Handler
Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

Role Summary:
A growing insurer is looking to appoint a Senior Claims Handler to support a broad and varied claims portfolio across complex commercial lines. Working within a close-knit team, the role will combine hands-on claims handling with oversight of third-party administrators and key stakeholder management across the business. This position offers strong long-term progression potential, including the opportunity to help shape and eventually lead an in-house claims function as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied portfolio of complex claims across areas including Professional Indemnity, Accident & Health, and Construction All Risk, giving you exposure to diverse and technically challenging work
- Oversee relationships with TPAs, panel firms, and service providers, allowing you to develop broader operational and stakeholder management experience
- Handle referrals above delegated authority and contribute to resolution strategies on higher-value and more complex matters
- Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, finance teams, and senior leadership, increasing your visibility across the wider business
- Support claims process improvement initiatives and contribute to the future development of an in-house claims function
- Produce clear reporting, reserve recommendations, and claims analysis to support business decision-making
Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ claims handling experience
- Experience handling claims within one or more of the following areas: Professional Indemnity, Accident & Health, or Construction All Risk
