Job: Science Technician
School: Secondary Academy, Lewisham, Southeast London
Actual Annual Salary: £23,202 - £24,897 (FTE £28,123 - £30,179)
Start date: As soon as possible
Contract: Temporary, 35 hours per week (08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday), 42.9 paid weeks a year. There is a permanent job available for the right candidate.

Key job responsibilities:
This role involves providing technical support to the Science department, ensuring that teachers and pupils have the equipment, resources, and safe working environment needed to deliver high-quality science education.
As a Science Technician, you will prepare, maintain, and organise practical equipment and materials for lessons, while also supporting the safe use of laboratories in line with health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required include:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Mathematics Health & Safety training, COSHH awareness and CLEAPSS guidance Degree in Science is desirable Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally as a school Science Technician Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and equipment A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
