Procurement Engineer - 12-Month Contract

I'm currently partnering with a global leader in healthcare technology to recruit a Procurement Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Oxfordshire.
Pay rate: up to £300 per day

The Role
As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies and optimising product costs across a complex, global supply chain. You'll work closely with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective components are delivered consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cost analysis and cost optimisation activities across the product life-cycle Deliver value engineering initiatives (should-cost modelling, bench-marking, etc.) Support design teams with cost estimates and manufacturing insights Collaborate with global suppliers to meet design-to-cost and manufacturability targets Support procurement teams during supplier negotiations Drive continuous improvement and support digital procurement initiatives Build strong relationships with international stakeholders

About You
Experience:
Background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar Experience within procurement, engineering, or supply chain Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining, fabrication, assemblies) Proven experience in cost analysis and cost optimisation
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Confident working in cross-functional and international teams Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
