On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for an Oracle Lead Database Engineer for a 6 Months contract based in London (Hybrid - 3 times per week in the office)
Job description - the role
Purpose of the role: As Oracle Lead Database Engineer, you will support the ongoing development, solution design, and scalability of relational database platforms within the Global Database Engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on Oracle database engineering, cloud-based database management, automation, and solution architecture, helping to design and deliver secure, scalable database solutions at enterprise scale.
What you'll do:
Architect and design Oracle database solutions for cloud-based database platforms. Develop and maintain automation platforms, scripts, and tools that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. Design and implement automated database deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines. Manage database provisioning, deployment, and operations across large-scale environments. Analyse incidents, identify root causes, and enhance platforms and automation to prevent recurring issues. Provide technical leadership across database and cloud architecture initiatives, including support for Exadata Cloud and Oracle Database platforms.
The skills you'll need:
Strong experience architecting and designing solutions for Oracle database platforms. Expertise in Oracle Database administration across 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and 23ai, including RAC environments. Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud, Exadata Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud@Customer, and Autonomous Database environments. Strong automation and scripting capabilities using Bash/KSH, Python, Ansible, and database automation technologies. Experience with Oracle ASM, Data Guard, backup, recovery, migration, and performance tuning. Knowledge of database infrastructure and operations, including networking, firewall concepts, enterprise storage architectures, and ITIL practices.
