A well-established, independent accountancy practice based in Stafford is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their small and friendly team.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit either a qualified accountant or an experienced QBE who enjoys working closely with clients and getting involved across a broad range of accounting work.
You will be responsible for a mixture of bookkeeping and accounts duties, supporting a portfolio of clients across their day-to-day accounting requirements.
What you will be doing as an Accountant
Preparation of year-end accounts for a range of clients Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records Preparation and submission of VAT returns Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts Bank reconciliations and general ledger work Assisting clients with day-to-day accounting queries Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships Supporting with general accounts and practice-related duties as required
What you will need to succeed as an Accountant
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts Excellent experience using Xero - this is essential AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, although QBE candidates will also be considered Good communication skills and a client-focused approach The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
