The business has a strong reputation for delivering technically robust and innovative engineering solutions, with a focus on quality, sustainability and practical design. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior electrical professional to take a leading role within a growing multidisciplinary consultancy, overseeing major projects and providing technical leadership across the electrical discipline. The Role An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the team in Ivybridge. The successful Principal Electrical Engineer will oversee the full electrical design of projects of varying sizes, with a particular focus on industrial and logistics developments. You will take responsibility for large projects, lead the coordination of engineering services and act as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams. The role combines technical leadership, project responsibility, client management and design quality oversight, with the opportunity to influence project delivery and contribute to the continued development of the electrical engineering function. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full electrical design of projects of varying sizes, primarily within the industrial and logistics sector Undertake electrical design work where required, from building services through to high-voltage systems Take responsibility for the successful delivery of large electrical engineering projects Lead the development, design and coordination of electrical installations, systems, equipment and facilities Act as a key client contact, providing technical advice and support throughout project delivery Oversee the design and specification of controls, instrumentation and operating systems associated with building engineering services Review surveys, testing and dilapidation reports relating to existing electrical installations Make technical and project decisions relating to project progress Represent the business at technical meetings with clients, contractors and wider professional teams Lead and oversee the coordination of electrical and wider engineering services Review engineering calculations and drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations Provide technical review and quality control across electrical engineering projects Attend client and project locations for meetings, surveys, inspections and other project activities Contribute to the development and improvement of technical policies and procedures Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with British Standards, UK Regulations, relevant codes and industry guidance Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures and legislation are followed
