Dispensing Services Assistant Location : Runcorn Salary : Competitive Working pattern: Full-Time, Permanent — Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (40 hours per week) About Us We are a growing Distance Selling Pharmacy committed to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare services across the UK. By combining technology with strong customer service, we help patients access their medicines conveniently and reliably. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented Level 2 Qualified Dispensing Services Assistants to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services. The Role As a Dispensing Services Assistant, you will support the efficient processing and dispensing of prescriptions within a regulated distance-selling pharmacy environment, working closely with pharmacists and the wider team to ensure patients receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time. What You'll Be Doing
Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist Select, label, and prepare medicines for dispensing and dispatch Process prescription requests and patient orders using pharmacy systems Prepare and package medications for home delivery Manage stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation Maintain accurate dispensing and patient records Respond professionally to patient enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GPhC standards, and relevant legislation Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy team
What You'll Bring Essential:
NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent recognised dispensing qualification) Previous experience in a pharmacy dispensing role Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent organisational and time management skills Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work well as part of a team under daily volume pressure Competent IT skills and experience using dispensing systems
Desirable:
Experience working in a Distance Selling Pharmacy Knowledge of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) Experience using Pharmacy Management Record (PMR) systems Understanding of NHS pharmacy services and regulations Commitment to ongoing professional development
