Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join a hospital team on a long-term locum basis. This role offers the opportunity to work across both ward and dispensary settings within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services, and supporting patient care throughout their hospital journey.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical pharmacy input at ward level as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
Ensure the safe, appropriate, and legal use of medicines across ward and dispensary settings
Undertake medicines reconciliation and support discharge processes, including counselling patients
Review prescriptions for safety, appropriateness, and legality, resolving any issues identified
Conduct medicines-related consultations with inpatients during admission
Support and work alongside medicines management technicians
Deliver medication education sessions and support group work on wards
Adhere to Trust policies, pharmacy procedures, and national guidelines
Qualifications and Experience
Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting
Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and clinical governance
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and patient-facing skills
