We are a friendly, established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in Leicester, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Practice Manager to take ownership of the firm’s accounts and tax compliance work.
This is a key role within the practice, suited to someone who enjoys managing deadlines, ensuring work is accurate and compliant, and taking responsibility for clients from start to finish.
You’ll work closely with the Firm Director and play an important part in maintaining the high standards of the practice as it continues to grow.
What will you be responsible for?
You’ll oversee the day-to-day compliance requirements for a varied portfolio of clients, including:
Preparing and reviewing annual accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns Preparing personal tax returns Preparing and reviewing VAT returns Managing bookkeeping and ensuring records are accurate and up to date Monitoring filing deadlines and ensuring submissions are completed on time Reviewing work prepared by junior staff where appropriate Dealing with HMRC and Companies House queries Managing client onboarding, engagement letters and AML requirements Acting as a key point of contact for clients on accounting and tax compliance matters

About you
You will have strong experience within an accountancy practice and be confident handling accounts and tax compliance work with minimal supervision.
ACA, ACCA, CTA, AAT or ATT qualifications would be welcomed, although strong relevant practice experience is equally important.
Experience with IRIS, Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks and VT Transactions would be beneficial.
