This is a brilliant opportunity to join a supportive finance team in a broad, hands-on role offering study support, flexible working hours and genuine opportunities for progression. The successful candidate will take ownership of accurate financial reporting while providing valuable financial insight to support commercial decision-making across the business. This would be ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a role where they can gain broad exposure and make a real impact. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Review and reconcile financial system postings, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monitor performance against budget.
- Analyse financial results, investigate variances and provide commentary to management.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
- Support year-end close processes.
- Assist with external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
- Work closely with colleagues across the wider business to improve financial controls, processes and reporting.
- Provide flexible support across the finance function and assist with ad hoc projects and duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Be part-qualified or qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
- Have previous experience within a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
- Have strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- Have a good understanding of VAT and financial reporting.
- Be confident analysing financial information and investigating variances.
- Have a proactive, hands-on and flexible approach.
- Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a small finance team.
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
