MS983 - Senior Structural Engineer Location: Sheffield Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities:
Concrete frame, steel frame, medium to high-rise design and existing structures, working across sectors such as residential, commercial, refurbishment and industrial. Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, SCIA, or Strand7. You will be preparing, detailing and reviewing drawings, supervising CAD Technicians in the preparation of these drawings. Assisting in the preparation of design quotes, writing reports and technical specifications. Supervising, mentoring and checking work for Graduates, Engineers and Technicians. You will be working collaboratively with Engineers in other disciplines such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design. Attending client and project meetings to build relationships and discuss their needs, requirements and any design issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor or master’s degree in civil/structural Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience. You could be Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE. You will have hands-on design experience and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
