Want to take real ownership of an Azure environment rather than spend your time maintaining someone else's decisions?
We're looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join an organisation going through a significant technology transformation, moving towards a predominantly cloud-native environment built around Azure and the wider Microsoft ecosystem.
This is a genuinely hands-on senior engineering role where you'll have the opportunity to shape the Azure platform, influence technical decisions and lead projects , with plenty of scope to improve automation, Infrastructure as Code and engineering standards.
You'll also get exposure to Microsoft Fabric and modern data platforms as they become an increasingly important part of the organisation's technology estate.
What you'll be doing
Taking ownership of engineering across a growing Microsoft Azure estate Designing and improving Azure infrastructure, networking, identity and security Driving greater adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation Working with Terraform and/or Bicep , PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git and CI/CD Implementing Azure governance, monitoring and security controls Working with technologies including Azure Policy, Key Vault, Private Endpoints and Defender Supporting the engineering platform behind Microsoft Fabric and modern data workloads Leading technical projects and influencing cloud architecture decisions Helping replace legacy and manual processes with modern, automated solutions Acting as a senior technical escalation point for the platforms you build
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Platform Engineer with strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
Ideally, you'll bring experience across:
Azure architecture and administration Azure networking, identity and RBAC Terraform and/or Bicep PowerShell and Azure CLI Infrastructure as Code Git and CI/CD Azure security, governance and monitoring Automation and DevOps engineering practices
Experience with Microsoft Fabric would be a big advantage, but it isn't essential.
We're equally interested in engineers who have worked with technologies such as Azure Databricks, Synapse, Data Lake, data pipelines or lakehouse architectures and want to develop further into Fabric.
Exposure to Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Defender, Purview or Power Platform would also be useful.
Why consider it?
This isn't a traditional infrastructure support role.
You'll have real technical ownership , direct involvement in architecture and the freedom to improve how cloud infrastructure is engineered and deployed.
