Your new company Birmingham City Council have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Transitions & Preparation for Adulthood Service.
Your new role This role supports young people within Birmingham aged 17-25 with additional needs as they transition into adulthood. The caseload may also include individuals facing challenges relating to homelessness, mental health, and involvement with the criminal justice system.
Key responsibilities include:
Support planning and undertaking Conversation 3 discussions
Completing commissioning of care forms and budget requests
Conducting reviews and Mental Capacity Assessments
Attending Best Interest Meetings, EHCP meetings, and Section 117 reviews
Completing CHC checklists as part of case management
Making sound, defensible decisions in a fast-paced environment
You will receive ongoing support from experienced Senior Practitioners and the Team Manager.
Contract: 3-month rolling contract Hours: 35 hours per week Working Pattern: Hybrid (1 day per week in the office - Tuesdays at Sparkbrook Community Health Centre)
To be considered, you must have:
A recognised Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) Current Social Work England registration Minimum 2 years' post-qualified permanent Social Work experience Previous experience within Adult Social Care services Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Flexibility to travel when required
