Senior IT Engineer (Level 2/3)
About the Company
Our client is an established Managed Service Provider (MSP) supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses. They provide a range of IT support and managed services, with a strong focus on delivering responsive, engineer-led technical support.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior IT Engineer to act as a senior technical point of escalation within the team.
You'll work independently on complex technical issues across networking, Microsoft 365 and Azure, while providing direct technical support and consultancy to clients. You'll also work closely with other senior engineers and help support the development of more junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Handle complex technical issues escalated from junior engineers, working alongside other senior engineers Design, maintain and document client network infrastructure Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments across multiple client tenants Provide client-facing technical consultancy and advisory support Mentor and support junior engineers within the team Participate in an on-call rotation following successful completion of your probationary period
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years' hands-on experience in a similar MSP or IT support environment Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs Demonstrable experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure in a multi-tenant environment A proven track record of independent problem-solving and troubleshooting Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients We value practical, hands-on experience over formal qualifications - certifications are beneficial but not essential
