Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Burnley
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000

A busy and growing business based in Burnley is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Assistant QS) to support its expanding workload.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting the commercial side of the business and helping manage the increased volume of work.
The Role
The position would suit someone with around 3 years’ experience who is looking to continue developing their career within a commercial environment.
Street lighting experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates with experience in civils, civil engineering, construction or a similar sector would be considered.
The ideal candidate will be relatively early in their career and have a good grounding in QS/commercial work, but will still be keen to learn, develop and progress rather than being the finished article.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the commercial management of projects Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor Managing call-offs and subcontractor accounts Preparing and submitting invoices Assisting with valuations and commercial reporting Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers Supporting the wider commercial team with day-to-day QS duties Helping ensure projects are commercially controlled and delivered profitably
About the Candidate
Around 3 years’ experience in a QS or Assistant QS position Experience within civils, construction or a related sector Street lighting experience is desirable but not essential Good commercial awareness and attention to detail Comfortable dealing with subcontractors and invoices Keen to develop and progress within the role Practical, hardworking and willing to learn
