Mechanical Engineer
Wigton Area
Salary dependent on experience
Adecco Workington are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well established manufacturing business in the Wigton area.
This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and performance of production machinery across the site. The successful candidate will be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance, machinery improvements and breakdown support within a busy manufacturing environment.
Hours are Monday to Friday working days initially, with flexibility required around shifts as training progresses and business needs develop.
Key duties
- Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and repairing production equipment
- Supporting machinery installations and upgrades
- Responding to breakdowns and reducing downtime
- Working closely with production and maintenance teams
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Completing maintenance documentation accurately
About you
- Mechanical Engineering qualification such as ONC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds
- Previous experience within manufacturing or production environments
- Strong mechanical fault finding and repair experience
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance
- Positive and proactive approach
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Training will be provided on company machinery and processes.
