Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Basildon Rate: Up to £48 per hour (Inside IR35) Contract: 12-month Contract
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation in Basildon.
You will be responsible for developing robust manufacturing processes and supporting the successful transition of new products from design into production. You will work closely with engineering, production, suppliers and customers to ensure products are delivered efficiently and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and improve manufacturing processes, methods and equipment. Support new product introduction and Manufacturing Maturity Reviews. Create and review Manufacturing Plans throughout the Product Lifecycle. Provide manufacturing expertise to support customers and product roadmaps. Review production schedules, labour and material costs, identifying improvements and solutions. Produce reports using manufacturing data and trends. Support failure investigations and structured problem-solving, including 8D . Mentor and support junior members of the engineering team. Ensure manufacturing activities comply with relevant regulations and company standards.
About You
Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles. Experience across multiple stages of the Product Lifecycle . Good leadership, mentoring and change-management skills. Strong communication, influencing and negotiation abilities. Experience of engineering peer reviews and implementing resulting actions. Good understanding of engineering risk and reward. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
