We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established commercial laundry business based in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful family-owned company that has been operating for over 130 years. The Role
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team of five, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of commercial laundry machinery and equipment to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
This role is ideally suited to a mechanically biased engineer who also possesses good electrical fault-finding skills. Formal electrical qualifications are not essential, but you should be comfortable working with electrical systems and diagnosing faults.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault finding Mechanical repairs and component replacement Basic electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting Supporting machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projects Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime Maintaining high standards of health and safety
Requirements
Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, production, laundry, FMCG or similar environments Strong mechanical maintenance skills Good electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability Positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong communication skills Reliable and dependable work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Hours
Monday to Friday PM Shift: 2:30pm - 11:45pm 40 hours per week
Please note: As part of this role, engineers are expected to work an additional 5 hours overtime on either a Saturday or Sunday on approximately 46 weekends per year. These hours are paid at time and a half and form part of the expected earnings package.
