Management Accountant Location: Southampton Job Type: Full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Your New Company
A growing and forward-thinking organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join its finance team for a 12-month maternity contract cover. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, to undertake a broad range of management accounting responsibilities within a PE-backed environment.
Your New Role
As Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business decision-making and collaborating with stakeholders across the wider business. You will work closely with senior finance leaders whilst taking ownership of month-end activities and management reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet and profit & loss reconciliations. Producing accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary. Supporting business projects by providing financial insight and analysis. Collating payroll information and liaising with external payroll provider. Assisting with day-to-day finance operations and supporting junior members of the team. Acting as a first point of contact for internal finance queries and ensuring timely resolution. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance reporting efficiency.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial controls. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience using QuickBooks and Salesforce would be advantageous.
