Manufacturing Engineer – CMM Programming Location: BAE Systems, Warton Contract: 12 months Working Pattern: Full time, onsite Rate: £24.78 per hour PAYE IR35: Inside IR35 Security: BPSS required, with SC in progress Vacancies: 1 The Opportunity BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer – CMM Programming to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at Warton. This is an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing engineer with strong CMM programming and machining experience to support the development and implementation of digital inspection processes within a highly regulated engineering environment. The Role You will translate engineering design information, including CAD models, drawings, materials and manufacturing specifications, into digital CMM inspection processes . You will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure inspection processes meet required quality, dimensional and manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities
Develop and program CMM inspection processes for machined components. Interpret CAD models, engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Apply GD&T principles in line with ISO and ASME standards. Support dimensional management, design for manufacture and process planning. Use CATIA V4/V5, Siemens NX and LK CAMIO or equivalent systems. Work with Siemens Dimensional Planning Verification (DPV) . Support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes. Manage activities to meet agreed cost, quality and schedule requirements. Respond effectively to unplanned events and tight deadlines. Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and wider business teams. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
About You We are looking for someone with:
Proven experience in CMM programming , ideally within machining environments. Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing engineering principles. Experience with CATIA V5, Siemens NX and/or LK CAMIO . Knowledge of Siemens DPV or equivalent dimensional verification systems. Strong knowledge of GD&T – ISO and ASME standards . Understanding of design for manufacture, dimensional management and process planning. Aerospace or equivalent high-standard manufacturing experience is desirable. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
Qualifications Candidates should have an Engineering Degree, HNC/HND or recognised apprenticeship , alongside significant relevant manufacturing engineering experience. Why BAE Systems?
