Civil Contractor / Civil Project Consultant Location: Spondon Contract: 3-month rolling contract, with potential to run through to the end of 2027 Day Rate: £350–£450 per day Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 3 days per week About the Role We are looking for an experienced Civil Contractor / Civil Project Consultant to support the delivery of three major projects with a combined value of approximately £1 million . The projects include warehouse conversion works, car park development and a new welfare building . The successful candidate will have strong experience managing civil projects from the initial planning and design stages through to completion, with the ability to develop practical solutions and overcome technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
Manage civil projects from initial concept and planning through to completion Support and manage planning permission and associated applications Develop and review design solutions , drawings and technical specifications Identify issues and develop practical engineering solutions to overcome challenges Manage tenders, contractor selection and procurement Coordinate utilities , including water, drainage, electrical and other site services Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders Review contractor proposals, quotations and technical submissions Monitor project costs, timescales and quality Ensure works comply with relevant planning, building and health & safety requirements Coordinate site activities and ensure projects progress in line with agreed programmes Provide technical input and guidance throughout the project lifecycle Monitor and resolve design, construction and site issues Support handover and completion of projects
About You We are looking for someone with a strong background in civil engineering/construction project delivery , who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and working across both the technical and commercial aspects. You'll ideally have experience with:
Civil/construction project management Planning permissions and applications Civil engineering design and technical drawings Utilities and infrastructure Tendering and contractor management Developing design solutions from concept through to completion Managing projects from initial design through the full project lifecycle Working across commercial, industrial or similar construction environments
