Lecturer - Foundation Learning

Kingston College is seeking a Lecturer to support students within the Foundation Learning area of the College. You will provide tutorial and pastoral support to groups of learners with learning disabilities and/or difficulties, while also monitoring and supporting work experience activities.

You will develop, implement and promote innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies that drive quality improvement and enhance the learning experience. You will design and deliver effective learning support materials, methods and activities for all learners, including those re-engaging with education. You will deliver teaching and assessment within your area of specialism, including lectures, coursework, practical activities and fieldwork. You will also deliver Maths and English to SEND learners at the appropriate level.

In addition, you will arrange, coordinate and supervise practical work, events and assessment projects, providing students with guidance and advice on appropriate techniques and approaches.

As our Lecturer, you will hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and have undertaken recent, relevant continuous professional development. You will have strong knowledge and current teaching experience across a range of academic and vocational levels, with experience of embedding Maths, English, employability and life skills into your teaching. You will understand the importance of inclusive learning strategies and progression pathways within the further education sector, particularly in improving opportunities and outcomes for learners with SEND. You will also have experience of vocational curriculum development within Further Education, including RARPA.

You will have a strong understanding of strategies for meeting the individual learning needs of students, together with experience of motivating and supporting individuals and teams to achieve agreed objectives. You will also be able to develop and deliver engaging vocational programmes that meet the needs of learners and support their progression. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will be confident communicating with students, colleagues and internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong interpersonal skills, together with effective planning, preparation, organisational and administrative abilities, will enable you to manage your responsibilities effectively and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
