Autism Support Worker - SEN School - Brixton

A dynamic and growing SEN school in Brixton is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join their team and support pupils in a nurturing, well-equipped environment in September 2026.

The Role
This is a full-time, long-term position starting after the summer break, with the potential to continue beyond the academic year.
As an Autism Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and complex needs. You'll work in a structured, supportive classroom setting, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups Delivering engaging, personalised activities Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills Helping to maintain a calm and positive learning environment
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience with (or a strong understanding of) ASD and complex needs Is patient, empathetic, and approachable Feels confident working both one-to-one and within a classroom Builds strong relationships with students and colleagues Is passionate about supporting children with SEN
Experience is helpful but not essential - attitude, commitment, and willingness to learn are just as important.
Experience as an Autism Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, or similar role (preferred) A genuine interest in supporting children with autism and SEN A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
