Senior QA Automation Engineer | Contract | Remote / Occasional office visit
£500 per day | Outside IR35 | September start | Initial 3 Months
A cutting-edge trading technology team are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile delivery function where quality, automation and innovation drive success.
You'll play a key role in testing a new trading algorithm, API integrations, and backend services, ensuring seamless performance through robust automation, exploratory testing, and CI/CD best practices.
Key Skills Required
Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer / SDET. Strong hands-on API testing experience (REST) - request/response validation, status codes, payload assertions, contract testing. Solid exposure to .NET backends. Strong automation with Playwright using C# .NET Experience writing clear, maintainable test frameworks (e.g. Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable utilities). Experience with Azure DevOps or an equivalent (test case management, pipelines/CI). Strong grasp of the software testing lifecycle, test design techniques, and Agile ways of working. Good understanding of testing React / single-page / wizard-style web applications. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, particularly around cross-team API contract clarity given a new external team will consume this API.
Nice to Have
Experience testing trading platforms and trading algorithms. Experience in the Energy Sector. Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-driven development tools. Experience with React Testing Library or contributing to component-level test coverage
Contract: 3 months initially Start: ASAP Rate: £500 per day IR35: Outside IR35
