Tutor (With QTS) - Kettering Location: Kettering Hours: 10-20 hours per week (part-time), term-time only (Monday-Friday availability required) Pay: £30-35 per hour
When: ASAP Start
We are looking for an experienced and supportive tutor (with QTS) to work with young people who require additional learning and emotional support. This is a rewarding role as an based in Kettering, North Northamptonshire that involves helping to create a positive and responsive learning environment across both home and school settings in the Kettering Some planning (alongside school staff) and regular feedback to parents and wider professionals will be part of the role.
Tutor Role:
Based in Kettering, this part-time position involves delivering a tailored curriculum in collaboration with teachers and other support mentors if required. Strong behaviour-support and relationship-building skills are essential.
Provide sessions either in school or at home, depending on the student's needs
Deliver and adapt curriculum content in partnership with teaching staff
Build trust and emotional safety by working at the student's pace
Use positive, student-centred approaches to support engagement
Support independence while offering guidance when needed
Identify potential sensory or emotional challenges and respond appropriately
Encourage communication, provide processing time, and offer flexible choices
Help promote emotional regulation through a calm, consistent approach
Accompany the student to familiar and supportive environments when needed
Essential Qualities:
Experience supporting autistic children or young people with additional needs
Experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs is beneficial but not essential
Flexibility in how support is delivered
Hold QTS Have own transportation to homes or centres in Kettering
