Intervention Tutor - Corby - GCSE & Functional Skills
£30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Long & Short-Term Assignments | Home & Community-Based
Are you passionate about helping young people re-engage with education, catch up with missed learning and work towards their GCSEs or Functional Skills qualifications?
Academics are working with learners across Corby who require personalised educational support outside of a traditional classroom environment. As an Intervention Tutor , you will provide 1:1 tuition in home and community settings, helping learners identify gaps in their knowledge, rebuild confidence and make meaningful academic progress.
Assignments can range from short-term interventions to longer-term placements , offering flexibility while allowing you to build strong, positive relationships with your learners.
The Role
Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people. Support learners to catch up with missed learning and develop their academic skills. Focus on key areas such as English and Maths , supporting GCSE and Functional Skills learning. Identify gaps in knowledge and adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs. Help learners who may have experienced barriers to education to re-engage with learning . Build confidence, motivation and positive attitudes towards education. Track progress and help learners work towards their individual educational goals.
Requirements
Previous experience supporting or teaching children and young people is preferred but not essential . Strong English and Maths skills , with the ability to support GCSE and/or Functional Skills learning. Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be advantageous. A patient, adaptable and encouraging approach.
£30 per hour . Flexible working hours to suit your availability. Short-term and long-term assignments . The opportunity to work with learners on a highly personalised basis.
