We are seeking an experienced Property Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanical maintenance and installation works, ensuring plumbing, heating, and associated systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The Role
As a Property Mechanical Supervisor, you will oversee mechanical works across the property portfolio, supervising the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems. You will lead in-house engineers and coordinate contractors, ensuring planned and reactive works are completed effectively and in line with safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems Lead and allocate work to the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time Coordinate subcontractors and specialist suppliers to deliver planned and reactive mechanical works Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and ensure mechanical assets are maintained effectively Diagnose mechanical faults and provide hands-on technical support where required Ensure works comply with relevant building regulations, gas safety requirements, and company procedures Monitor the quality of completed works and ensure high standards are maintained across the property portfolio Liaise with internal departments and provide clear updates on maintenance works, progress, and issues Support the ordering and management of parts, materials, equipment, and contractor services Respond to emergencies and assist with urgent mechanical maintenance requirements Provide team cover during absences and participate in the on-call/standby rota as required Complete any additional duties within the scope of the role
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a professional who has:
Extensive experience in building/property maintenance with a strong mechanical or plumbing background Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role Relevant City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent recognised mechanical/plumbing qualifications Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating, mechanical systems, and gas safety requirements Good knowledge of building regulations, compliance, and maintenance best practices Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with the ability to manage contractors and internal stakeholders A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure A full, clean UK driving licence
