Manufacturing Engineer Medway Up to £40k
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing production engineering team based in Medway.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with an Electrical/Electronics Engineering background to take ownership of production engineering projects, improve manufacturing processes and introduce lean and automation solutions across the factory floor.
You’ll play a key role in supporting new product introductions, developing production processes, improving productivity and reducing waste, while working closely with engineers, technicians, production teams and external suppliers.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting effective production across the factory and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties include:
Supporting New Product Introductions (NPIs) and pre-production activities. Implementing new manufacturing processes on the factory floor. Supporting technicians with fault diagnosis and repair of production equipment. Updating controlled drawings and technical documentation. Introducing LEAN improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste. Coordinating planned maintenance and repairs with external contractors. Carrying out calibration activities on production equipment and maintaining accurate records. Training production staff on new or updated processes and equipment. Supporting shopfloor layout changes and new equipment installations. Creating programmes for production equipment. Designing and installing jigs and fixtures. Researching and implementing new production equipment. Conducting takt time analysis to establish and improve production KPIs. Designing and installing new production cells. Developing automation solutions. Reviewing and approving concessions. Taking responsibility for additional production engineering activities as required.
The right candidate will have/be:
Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Previous experience working within an engineering or production environment. Strong understanding of electronics down to component level. Good computer literacy and knowledge of Windows operating systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to take ownership and work proactively. Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team. A self-starter with the ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
