Temporary Science Technician Middlesbrough Full-time Temporary (4-5 weeks) Start Date: ASAP Hays Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a busy secondary school in Middlesbrough on a full-time, temporary basis for approximately 4-5 weeks, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Key Responsibilities
Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment, materials and specimens for practical lessons Supporting teaching staff with the safe delivery of experiments and demonstrations Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring it is in good working order Managing stock levels and ordering supplies as required Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and COSHH regulations Safely handling, storing and disposing of chemicals and hazardous materials
About You
Previous experience as a Science Technician (school setting preferred) A relevant science qualification or background is desirable Strong organisational skills and a methodical, safety-conscious approach Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH procedures within a laboratory environment Reliable, proactive and able to work as part of a team
